First of all a lot of these movies made more than they cost. So they didn't lose millions. This article only looks at what they made in the U.S. and not hat it grossed around the world. A series of unfortunate events grossed more than 200 million worldwide so it actually gained over 60 million dollars
These movies have nothing to do with Harry Potter. First of all for the movie "The Golden Compass" the book was published in 1995. The first Harry Potter was not published until June 30, 1997. Two years after The Golden Compass was published. Second of all the movie "The Seekers: The Dark is Rising". The book the movie is based on is called The Dark is Rising Sequence books. Which were all published between the years 1965-1977. That's years and years before Harry Potter come out.None of these movies have anything to do with Harry Potter. The only thing the books and the movies have to do with Harry Potter is that they are all fantasy books and movies.
